Sarah - Troupe Director/ATS® Instructor
A former gymnast, Sarah was inspired to start American Tribal Style® Bellydancing in September of 2008 after her friend Teejei took her to see the Bellydance Superstars in Atlanta, Ga. She came home that Monday and signed up to take classes from Jenny Helms. Just a few months later, Sarah was asked to join Moonsister Bellydance Company and began performing at festivals like Drumstrong and Taste of Charlotte and eventually leading into the Carolina Renaissance Festival.
Jenny Helms and her family moved to the west coast in January 2010 leaving Sarah forced to sink or swim. She proudly took the role as lead instructor of the American Tribal Style Bellydance® classes at Yasmine's Mid-East Dance studio. She and Jenny (Assistant Troupe Director) worked together to start En-Trance Bellydance Company and build a new empire! Some of Sarah's biggest inspirations include: Yasmine, Carolena Nericcio, Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Mardi Love, Megha Gavin, Teejei, Mira Betz, Jillina, Lisa Zahiya, Jenny Helms, Anasma, Kami Liddel, and many many more!
If you are unable to attend her classes, Sarah is available for private lessons. Please contact us for details. |

Jenny - Assistant Troupe Director
Jenny started cabaret bellydance classes with Yasmine (from Magic Hips) in January 2006, after seeing the Jewels of the Caravan performing at the Carolina Renaissance Festival. Growing up as a self-proclaimed tomboy with two older brothers (and having zero previous dance experience), Jenny immediately fell in love with the grace and beauty of bellydance. She began taking American Tribal Style® classes in August of 2007, when instructor Jenny Helms moved to Charlotte. After taking an ATS® hiatus to pursue the darker side of dancing with The Midnight Magnolias, her dance path has led her back to the beautiful improvisational dance style.
Her inspirations include Rachel Brice and the Indigo Dance Company, Nayna, Jenny Helms, Sashi, Tempest, Yasmine, Caroleena Nericcio, and virtually anyone who has the spirit and courage to share their love of the dance. |

Luma Medha - Troupe Member
Luma began taking modern dance and ballet classes at an early age, and she was a member of the Rainbow Dance Company, a multi-age modern dance company in Raleigh, NC for eight years. She is grateful for the supportive and loving instructors at Arts Together, Inc., who created a nurturing environment for dancers of all sizes, shapes, and ages to grow.
After a lengthy hiatus, Luma re-discovered her love of dance when she began taking cabaret belly dance classes with Nayna at Lotus Dance Studio in 2007. In 2009 she began taking American Tribal Style® belly dance classes with Jenny Helms and fell in love with tribal and tribal fusion belly dance. She currently takes classes with Sarah and has attended classes and/or workshops with Yasmine, The Indigo, Rose Harden, Paulette Rees-Denis, Jaylee, Natalie Brown, and other talented performers. Luma is delighted to be a part of En-Trance Bellydance and our wonderful dance community. |
